Papyrus Prevention of Young Suicide

HOPELINE247 — confidential support for anyone under 35 with thoughts of suicide, and for anyone worried about a young person.

Visit their website →Registered charity 1070896

Papyrus runs HOPELINE247, staffed by trained suicide-prevention advisers rather than general volunteers. It is one of very few UK services designed specifically around young people, and one of even fewer that will talk at equal length to a parent, teacher or friend who is worried about someone.

Advisers will work through a safety plan with you on the call if that is useful, which makes this a good first contact for someone who wants a concrete next step rather than only a conversation.

People contact them about: thinking about suicide, hurting myself, nothing feels worth it, worried about someone else.

Is something here wrong?

A number that no longer works is the most serious thing that can go wrong on this site. If you have tried one of these and it did not connect, please tell us and we will check it the same day.

We are not affiliated with Papyrus Prevention of Young Suicide and we do not speak for them. This page describes their service as they publish it; their own site is always the authority.
