Campaign Against Living Miserably
A helpline and webchat built around how men most often ask for help — though it is open to everyone.

CALM runs a helpline and a webchat staffed by trained professionals. It was founded around the observation that the largest single group dying by suicide in the UK — men under 50 — was the group least likely to phone a helpline, and that the answer was not to tell them to try harder but to build something they would actually use.
In practice that means practical, direct conversation rather than open-ended listening, and a webchat that is as fully staffed as the phone line.

Is something here wrong?
A number that no longer works is the most serious thing that can go wrong on this site. If you have tried one of these and it did not connect, please tell us and we will check it the same day.
We are not affiliated with Campaign Against Living Miserably and we do not speak for them. This page describes their service as they publish it; their own site is always the authority.
