NHS 111

The NHS urgent care line. In England, selecting the mental health option connects you to a local 24/7 crisis team.

Visit their website →

NHS 111 is the front door to urgent NHS care. In England, choosing the mental health option routes you to your local NHS crisis service, which can arrange an urgent assessment, contact your existing team, or send someone to you.

This is the route to take when you need clinical help rather than a conversation — for example if you are already under a mental health team, if medication is involved, or if you need to be seen today.

111 is not a listening service. If what you need is someone to talk to, Samaritans or Shout will serve you better.

People contact them about: thinking about suicide, hurting myself, hearing or seeing things others don't, nothing feels worth it.

Is something here wrong?

A number that no longer works is the most serious thing that can go wrong on this site. If you have tried one of these and it did not connect, please tell us and we will check it the same day.

We are not affiliated with NHS 111 and we do not speak for them. This page describes their service as they publish it; their own site is always the authority.
