CVV has offered emotional support and suicide prevention since 1962, staffed entirely by trained volunteers. Since 2018 its number, 188, has been free from anywhere in Brazil.
It also answers by chat and email, and has walk-in posts in many cities. Calls are anonymous and there is no time limit on them.
