Rise From The Edge

Lifeline Australia

Australia's national 24-hour crisis line — phone, text or chat, for anyone at any time.

Visit their website →ABN 84 081 031 263

Lifeline has run since 1963 and is the service most Australians can name. Crisis supporters are trained volunteers, and the line is open every hour of every day.

The text and chat services are staffed by the same trained people as the phone line, which matters because 13 11 14 is not usable for everyone — at work, in a shared house, or when distress has taken your voice.

People contact them about: thinking about suicide, hurting myself, nothing feels worth it, depression, anxiety and panic, a relationship has ended, someone i love died, completely alone, money, debt or housing.

Is something here wrong?

A number that no longer works is the most serious thing that can go wrong on this site. If you have tried one of these and it did not connect, please tell us and we will check it the same day.

We are not affiliated with Lifeline Australia and we do not speak for them. This page describes their service as they publish it; their own site is always the authority.
